Multiple cable solutions guarantee increased wind resistance and are able to cross spans of over 2,500 meters. This makes for a perfect application over steep and exposed terrain. Tricable gondola lifts have one hauling cable and two support cables. In both systems, grips are detachable, meaning that the systems have a very high transport capacity. Vehicles can be slowed in the stations and with the new Stop-and-Go technology they can even be stopped completely. This ensures additional comfort when entering and exiting the gondola.

The tricable gondola lift “3S Eisgratbahn” will be in operation throughout the year. It will meet the highest requirements in terms of performance, cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability and will represent a new generation of technology. The installation will be the first tricable gondola lift realized
in two sections and the first one to use the environmentally friendly DirectDrive.

The lift entered into operation on October 22, 2016. It is the world's first 3S gondola lift which uses the groundbreaking DirectDrive. In occasion of the maiden trip of the new 3S Eisgratbahn, the Wintersport Tirol AG & Co. Stubaier Bergbahnen KG has published an article in an important local newspaper describing the project as a milestone: "With the new 3S Eisgratbahn we not only realized a groundbreaking project in Austria's ropeway business within a very short construcion period - but we also did the largest individual investment of a ski area spending 64 million Euros. This project could be realized within less than 16 months thanks to a well-thought-out planning and an exemplary collaboration of all decision-makers, construction companies and employees of the Stubaier Gletscherbahnen. It really is a milestone." |
